The OpenStack Individual Director election is on right now from the 12th to the 16th of January. This is who I’d like to see seated at the table at the first 2015 meeting on January 29:
Tim Bell – If the board ever decides to create permanent Board seats, Tim is the reason for it. Say no more.

Randy Bias – Randy gets cloud, gets business and gets everything and he isn’t afraid to share his wisdom. His observation that OpenStack has a mission but lacks vision that has led to the forming of the Product Workgroup is astute and I predict this Workgroup to become a critical focal point for the community in 2015.

Kavit Munshi – The Indian OpenStack community is MASSIVE and in need of representation. The 3000 people in the meetup group is just a fraction of the actual number working on OpenStack country wide. This makes India’s voice crucial to bringing much needed diversity.

Rob Hirschfeld – Rob works hard for OpenStack, especially so for DefCore this past year or so. Rob’s a details guy, and the Board needs him as their details guy.

Monty Taylor – I love the way I can emphatically agree and disagree with Monty, all at once. Monty holds the flag for the dyed in the (organic of course) wool FOSS community, and we’d all dearly miss his theatrical interactions around the Board table.

Alex Freedland – Hard to not have a guy that anchors the most successful OpenStack business ever on the Board. Alex is a consummate businessman and that is always needed on any Board.

Haiying Wang – As well as bringing a significant voice in the telco industry, Haiying adds to the diversity of the board representing the vastness of Asia alongside Kavit.
